Location Report: St. Vincent Ex-Teachers Celebrate Those That Give Back at Grand Prospect Hall

The St. Vincent Ex-Teachers held their 2020 annual awards gala luncheon here at Grand Prospect Hall.

The St. Vincent Ex-Teachers have been an active organization for over 37 years. Consequently, over the decades, Ex-Teachers has worked to uplift and promote education within the community. Most noteworthy, their organization commends leaders that impact the community.

In addition, this year’s awards gala commemorated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday.  Hence, leaders from the past and present were recognized. The honoree for the awards gala was Garnes Byron. Byron’s efforts as an activist for the Caribbean-American community have earned a lot of recognition over the years.  Byron stated “You have built our nation and, by extension, you are building this country we have adopted as our home,” while receiving his award. Furthermore, Byron praised the Ex- Teachers Association’s efforts to impact the community.
